Call for Member Nominations: 2009 CIRA Board of Directors Election
CIRA invites Members to Nominate Candidates
Ottawa, August 4 2009 - The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is seeking nominations from its Membership for individuals interested in becoming a potential Candidate in the 2009 CIRA Board of Directors Election.
CIRA's Board of Directors define the strategic direction for CIRA and contributes to Canadian Internet policy by setting the policies that support Canada's Internet community and users, and helps shape the future of the Internet in Canada.
Nominations and Applications
Nominations are being accepted from noon (12:00h) today to 6:00 pm (18:00h) on August 17, 2009 Eastern Time. To nominate an individual, please complete an online Nomination Form.
Once nominated, Nominees will receive an email with a link to complete an online Nominee Application Form. The form must be completed and submitted by the Nominee before 8:00 pm (20:00h) Eastern Time on August 17, 2009.
Before nominating someone, Nominators should ensure that the proposed Nominee agrees to be nominated and meets the qualifications for Directors.
Final Slate of Candidates
To be included on the Final Members' Slate, Member Nominees must receive the support of at least 20 CIRA Members. Members will be able to show support for any Member Nominee from August 24, 2009 at noon (12:00h) until 6:00 pm (18:00h) Eastern Time on September 7, 2009.
The Final Members' Slate will be published on CIRA's website with the Final Nomination Committee Slate on September 14, 2009.
